Arts Collaboratory Assembly: Indonesia

The Assembly brings together the 24 participating organizations of the network in Indonesia for a week-long series of encounters. It centers around a series of working groups addressing a variety of topics including crisis and post-crisis sites, alternative pedagogies, urban intervention, rewriting (art) histories in terms of organizational practices, ethics & aesthetics, commons, and different curatorial methods. 

The local hosts ruangrupa and KUNCI also arranged visits to a number of local art and cultural spaces. While the majority of the program is not open to the public you can follow the discussion and trips through postings by Arts Collaboratory reporters on our blog. Lecture and discussion with Rudolf Mrázek, an historian of modern southeast Asia and especially Indonesia, author of Engineers of Happy Land: Technology and Nationalism in a Colony (2002).
