ReadingRoom with Terra Critica and Alex Martinis Roe as guest
ReadingRoom is a local Terra Critica practice in Utrecht that takes place at Casco and involves careful and critical readings of texts from a wide range of disciplines. This season of sessions are focused on the poetics and politics of the affirmative and investigates the spaces of education, activism, and art on different pedagogical, poetical, and political levels. Alex Martinis Roe, whose practice involves an affirmative politics of difference, is the guest for this December session.

Conversation with Sakiko Sugawa on domestic labor
Sakiko Sugawa is a member of hanare and one of the founding members of Social Kitchen in Kyoto. She is also part of the accompany collective based in Auckland, NZ. Sugawa explores the question of how to prepare ourselves for post-capitalist society and is interested in the reproductive labor of everyday life, and creating initiatives involving this complex labor to accompany as well as supplement a wider political and labor movement. She was a visiting fellow at Queens Museum in New York City from 2015–16.

Our Future Network: Historiography, Public Speaking, and Collective Difference

Day-long salon with Alex Martinis Roe and guests.
During this day-long salon, the artist Alex Martinis Roe will host a group of invited guests to stage proposals and responses to ideas and methodologies presented in her feature-length film Our Future Network (2016). The day will comprise of lectures and presentations from invited guests (to be announced); a screening of Our Future Network; and live contributions from participants in the film, including the choreographer Cécile Bally and the literature and gender studies scholar Vasso Belia, who with fellow members of the Gender Studies programme at Utrecht University, will enact some of the propositions for new feminist political practices.

Army Of Love: Ingo Nierman and Dora Garcia
Screening and talk
Writer Ingo Nierman and artist Dora Garcia have been commissioned by Casco to further develop the project Army of Love. Part communitarian, part anarchy, the Army of Love is envisioned as a weapon of unconditional, radical love for the transhumanist regime. This will be an introductory event for Army of Love, featuring a screening and workshop.
