Making the Casco’s office into the stage for the live concert, the first-floor exhibition space is transformed into Casco’s “backstage” – the location of the team’s daily work and archival reorganization. Every Wednesday during this project at our headquarters, we invite you to come over and experience our archiving process, as well as a tour of Casco and hear many stories of our vast history. Reservations are required, so please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to join.
As part of our archiving efforts and process, we are speaking with experts in our networks and beginning a schedule of future field trips to various archives in The Netherlands to learn more. We are learning about the core principles of archival organization and sharing how this is an important moment for Casco. It’s us saying: here’s what we’ve done, we value it, there is historical, cultural, and research value here, we’re going to make it accessible, and we commit to that institutionally. This is a turning point, making Casco’s history discoverable for people outside of the institution and learning how the archive can be a resource for an institution of the commons.
