19 January–2 February 2007 / Casco HQ
Participants from outside of MaHKU are invited to register on info@mahku.nl.
Following on from last year’s Re-Thinking Engagement, in January 2007 Casco hosts a second series of workshops organized in collaboration with the maHKU (the masters course of the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht).
The workshops focus on how designers approach the problems and questions design evokes in a topical visual world. Could a transdisciplinary perspective produce innovative solutions? Could such a perspective lead to transdiscipline-based concepts? Does design transform when viewed from a transdisciplinary perspective?
These questions are tackled in the workshops by three transdisciplinary practices on three consecutive Fridays: 19 January, 26 January, and 2 February. A one-hour public lecture is followed by a one-day workshop. The outcome of each workshop is presented at the end of the afternoon.
