Just Landing: Sustainability in a Fractured World

On Tuesday 3 November, Utrecht University’s Pathways to Sustainability hosts its annual festival, Just Landing: Sustainability in a Fractured World at TivoliVredenburg. Having been in close conversation with Pathways over the years, including through our joint Whose Ocean? project, we’re glad to share this festival, which brings together researchers, artists, policymakers, practitioners and societal partners to explore how sustainability can take root in everyday life, communities and institutions.

From 14:30–17:00, artist collective The Outsiders, with whom we organise Travelling Farm Museum, among other initiatives, facilitate Acting like mycelium. This participatory session explores collective decision-making, mutual dependence and adaptive resilience through bodily movement. Drawing inspiration from Brazilian artist Lygia Pape’s Divisor and Yasmine Ostendorf-Rodríguez’s book Let’s Become Fungal, the session invites participants to move through the festival as a living network, exploring how we might act collectively beyond individual perspectives and hierarchical structures.
