Jan van Eyck Academie opens registration for Artistic Prefigurations, Institutional Becomings, a two-day symposium on 28–29 May. The programme explores how artistic practice is shaped by—and can actively intervene in—institutional, economic, and political conditions, treating them not as constraints but as sites for action, transformation, and experimentation, and for prefiguring future organisational forms in the present. Across two days, it brings together lectures, roundtables, performances, and workshops with artists, curators, researchers, and institutional practitioners, including Kathrin Böhm from Casco’s ecosystem.
