International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

25 November has been designated by the United Nations as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Until today, holders of power do not like women to be politically active. Although women have won many battles, patriarchy, rape culture, femicide, and misogyny remain dominant norms of the world we live in. Every year on this day, women across the world gather together to show how we have proven to be strong, resilient, determined and courageous. For more information and to read the historical backstory behind this day visit Moira’s Instagram.

The protest starts at 17:00 on Domplein with @jina_collective@save.campaign@nietnormaal_asterisk and WoW (Women for Filipino Women and Children) and is followed by 20:00 with a screening of ”In the time of butterflies” in Moira, which you can join online via Zoom
