On 18 February, Casco Art Institute’s Aline Hernández gives an online talk as part of The Curatorial Roundtable, an international forum for curators and institutional leaders hosted by Steven Henry Madoff, founding chair of the MA Curatorial Practice at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Departing from Casco’s ongoing inquiry into what it means to be an institution of the commons, Hernández elaborates on how practicing the commons can cultivate an ecosystem-based approach to art and exhibition-making. The talk reflects on how the ethics and values of such an approach can support collective institutional renewal while fostering lasting structures of relation and mutual support.
