Sunday Book Market with De Rooie Rat

6 September 2015, 12:00–18:00 / Casco HQ

Utrecht Cultural Sundays presents Uitfeest, heralding a new season in the culturally rife city. Events are held in collaboration with many Utrecht-based art and cultural organizations, including our neighbors FOTODOK and BAK, basis voor actuele kunst and colleagues Academiegalerie and Expodium, all of which have openings. Casco – Office for Art, Design and Theory and De Rooie Rat bookstore join forces with a Sunday Book Market under the theme of alternative urban living, art, and activism.

De Rooie Rat, a bastion of socially and critically stimulating books in Utrecht, will sadly close after more than forty years. Together with the Casco team they offer a special selection from their stock. Do take the opportunity to visit, get inspiring books – including Casco’s publications – at discounted prices (cash only), and enjoy some conversation with us and other visitors!

Also be sure to check out the second Casco Case Study: Site for Unlearning (Art Organization), on view through 30 September. It includes a special update on the recent exercise “digital cleaning” through which we unlearn our organizational working habits. We also highly recommend our beautiful courtyard as a place for Sunday contemplation.
