With Read-in (Sven Engels, Annette Krauss, Laura Pardo), Dung Nguyen, and Casco Art Institute, in the framework of the Nina bell F. House Museum exhibition
What happens when one is constantly reminded that something is at odds while reading together?
Door-to-door collective reading session Read-in returns after an eight-year hiatus! Collaborating with Dung Nguyen in the framework of Nina bell F. House Museum, the session investigates the possibility to evoke previously unimagined connections between human and non-human participants.
Read-in experiments with the political, material, and physical implications of collective reading, as well as the situatedness of their reading activities. The door-to-door format questions the notion of hospitality and our relationship to public and private.
Read-in was initiated in February 2010 in Utrecht by artist Annette Krauss and theater maker Hilde Tuinstra and further developed in collaboration with artists Laura Pardo, Marina Stavrou, and Leonardo Vargas. The research group continues in different formations. Current members are Hyunju Chung, Svenja Engels, Annette Krauss, Serena Lee, Sanne Oorthuizen, Laura Pardo, Ying Que, and Marianna Takou.
