Following her research into the self-governing and self-policing of the Danish free state Christiania, Nicoline van Harskamp presents a new video work entitled Freedomism. The broad spectrum of non-statist political thought from in and outside of the Netherlands is introduced through interviews with people who each in one way or another represent an “-ism.” Green anarchists, activists, libertarians and many others discuss, often contradictory, notions of collectivism and individualism, state systems and voluntary systems, responsibility and freedom.
The video sets the issues for a subsequent discussion. Some of the contributors to the video are present to elaborate and answer questions.
