Fools Don’t Play That

2–27 October 1996 / Casco HQ

A “situation” in which the relationships between the materials, shapes and meanings are continually changing: a heavy monitor hangs suspended in the center of the exhibition space. The image on video is that of the back of a man’s head which moves back and forth almost imperceptibly, his ears unbelievably red. The rear of the exhibition space is completely occupied by a large cushion. In the shape of a soft body, this cushion incites the viewer to stop looking and feel, and then to act: the cushion as an exceptionally large punch bag.
